In the wake of Weinstein’s recent endightment, Georgina Chapman revealed in 2017 that she will not be standing by her man and has chosen a different life path for herself.  Ms. Chapman expressed her condolences to all of the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of the unforgivable actions by her husband, Harvey Weinstein.   She has made the decision to leave her husband.  Ms. Chapman is spending her time caring for her young children and trying to stay out of the spotlight and put these horrific events behind her.

It is not surprising that with 15 rape cases and 95 sexually harassed or assault cases hanging over his head, that his wife would chose divorce.

In May 2018, Weinstein was arrested in New York and charged with rape and other horrendous offenses. In February 2020, he was found guilty of rape in the third degree and a criminal sexual act. In March of 2020, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison. The Harvey Weinstein scandal triggered many similar allegations against powerful men around the world, and led to their demise by women speaking out agains their own experiences of sexual assault, harassment, or rapeThe claims started the global #MeToo movement and stars including; Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett have alleged that they were targeted by Harvey Weinstein.

Not only does Harvey have back problems but also coronavirus. He’s getting old and his time in jail will most likely be a life sentence.

Tarana Burke founded the Me-Too movement. She started using the phrase “Me Too” on social media. Tarana wanted to use it to raise awareness about sexual abuse and assault.  More than just a hashtag, the #MeToo movement has changed the way people view sexual assault, sexual abuse, and inappropriate workplace behaviors in this country.  This type of behavior is no longer overlooked, ignored, or pushed aside.  Woman have found their voice and will no longer be bullied or abused by the men who serve in the role as their employer.

67-year-old, Harvey Weinstein, was seen struggling to walk into a bail hearing using a walker.  Recently, he has been accused of  lying about his injury in order  to gain sympathy ahead of the start of his criminal trial on January 6th. We do know that Weinstein injured his back when he swerved to avoid a deer earlier this year according to https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/20/nyregion/harvey-weinstein-trial.htmlHe suffered compressions to the vertebrae in his spine. He has released a photograph of himself inside a hospital, to prove he isn’t ‘faking’ his illness.

Weinstein also tested positive for the Corona Virus according to https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52000173 . He is currently in isolation at the Wende Correction Facility. Although he hasn’t shown any of the symptoms that traditionally accompany a positive result for COVID-19, he is being kept in isolation.  Due to his failing health, his 23 years will most likely be a life sentence.
