Rylee Vinson 2nd Article: Ranking the Harry Potter Movies

Ranking all the Harry Potter movies from 1st to 8th. Stating my opinion on what I like and dislike in each movie.

HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE
This movie could be ranked 1st or 2nd because this one is where you get to know everyone and it’s all-new. I usually think the first movie is the best just because it’s the starting point of the series. I don’t dislike anything about this movie only the Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin because they treat Harry badly. My favorite scene is the most iconic scene out of all the movies when Harry is told that he is a wizard.

I started watching the first movie on May 14th and finished on May 18 at 2:19 in the morning. The average Harry Potter movie is 2 hours and 27 minutes.

RANKED 2nd

HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS
I like it but it’s not my favorite, it’s more gruesome than the first one which I like. I don’t like how they always blame everything on Harry I feel like if it was him that he would try harder to hide it and not be caught by someone every time. My favorite scene is when we first meet Dobby and then Ron breaks him out of his house.
RANKED 7th

HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN
I have mixed emotions about this movie. I like how the kids seem more mature and I like Harry’s relationship with Sirius Black. Malfoy annoys me and always seems to ruin stuff. That’s why my favorite scene is when Hermani punches Malfoy in the face. I wish they talked more about Azkaban in this it’s not mentioned a lot. I also wished we got to know more about Remus in this movie.
RANKED 6th

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE
This is my favorite I think because of the competitions and I like meeting the other magic schools. It is so action-packed that I was never bored during the movie I stayed interested the whole time. Also, we meet Voldemort for the first time so then we know that the rest of the movies are going to be good. My favorite scene is when everyone is at the ball, but Harry and Ron sit with their dates and watch everyone else have fun.
RANKED 1st

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
I don’t like this movie just because Dolores Umbridge ruins it all. The whole movie she makes me mad and I don’t like her. She changes Hogwarts so much and makes it awful. I also don’t get why no one believes Voldemort is back and thinks Harry is lying. My favorite scene is when the twins George and Fred set off the fireworks during the O.W.L.
RANKED 8th

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE
The movie is not bad I feel like it shows a lot of emotion and has a lot of twists we did not see coming. It’s gut-wrenching, but I feel like they could have made the scene better when Harry finds out who the half-blood prince is. My favorite scene is when Ron eats all the chocolates and falls in love and they have to reverse it.
RANKED 5th

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1
I feel like in this one so many people die or get hurt which makes me sad, but one of the darkest movies that we have seen in the series yet shows a lot of emotions in this movie too. My favorite scene is when they all change into Harry at the beginning of the movie.
This shows you the movies side by side numbered up to 7 they number deathly hallows part 1 and part 2 both 7. If you were to add up all the movies together it would be 19[/caption]
RANKED 3rd

HARY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2
This is very action-packed and a lot goes on, but I feel like something is missing from it. I like how we see them in the future but I wish the ending was a little better. I wanted more closure on some of the characters. My favorite scene is when Neville kills the snake with the Gryffindor Sword.
RANKED 4th

I like how in all of the movies you see the kids grow up and mature. I wish that they did go a little deeper into some of the character’s secrets. Mostly Dumbledore because they didn’t talk about his life till he was dead. Also, I wish Harry became a teacher because he was good at it.
