With the NFL in full swing here at week 6 we need a recap of the 2019 season so far.

AFC

Currently in the AFC East the New England Patriots lead the division with a 5-0 winning record. The Buffalo Bills are close behind with a 4-1 record.

In the AFC North the Ravens leads with a 3 wins and 2 loses. The Cleveland Browns come close behind with a 2-3 record.

In the AFC South both the Houston Texans and The Indianapolis Colts are tied for the lead with a 3-2 record. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans are tied for a close second place.

The Kansas City Chiefs currently lead the AFC West with a 4-1 record. The Oakland Raiders are following close behind the Chiefs at 3-2.

These two helmets show the fierce rivalry between teams that tears the family apart on gameday.

NFC

In the NFC North the Green Bay Packers lead the division with a 4-1 record. The Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings are both tied for second place at 3-2.

In the NFC South the New Orleans Saints are firmly in front with four wins compared to second place the Carolina Panthers who only have three wins.

In the NFC West the San Francisco 49ers are undefeated with a 4-0 record. The Seattle Seahawks are currently in second at 4-1.  The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles are currently all square in the division at 4-2. They are followed by the under-performing New York Giants.

Local Buzz
Joey Sims, a Sophomore at Lafayette High school, haS strong opinions about the New York Giants playing the New England Patriots on the 10th of October. “They did exactly as I thought. Daniel Jones is still good, but he still needs a lot of work. The Giants just need their offence to be healthy and for their defense to improve,”he said. He furthermore stated, “I think it will be the New England Patriots for the AFC. It’s a little unclear right now but I think the Green Bay Packers will go for the NFC.”

Andy Dalton, the starting quarterback for the Bengals, being drilled by an interviewer after a tough span of games sprouting discussions of his benching.

Lafayette Senior Sean Long, a New England Patriots fan, had this to say about the game that took place on the 10th of October against the New York Giants. “I thought they could’ve been a bit more dominant and establish the run game. Brady showed his old age in the first half.” Regarding Sony Michel and the Patriot’s run game he said, “I think Sony Michel did well but I like James White more because he is more versatile and faster.” As for the Superbowl? “The New England Patriots will most likely go to the Superbowl and win but I’m not sure who will go to the Superbowl for the NFC.”

Based on current statistics, the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet in the AFC Championship game, and it seems probable that the New England Patriots will win and go to the Superbowl. In the NFC, it seems most likely that the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers are going to play each other in the NFC Championship game, with the San Francisco 49ers to win.

As for the Superbowl itself, the New England Patriots will most likely win. With their legendary quarterback Tom Brady leading the way, and with their defense currently rated the best defense in the league, they are set to reign spureme over Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers will probably play a good game and be a problem for the New England Patriots but a win is doubtful. The 49er defense isn’t the greatest, and with the lack of star players they just don’t have what it takes. Final prediction: the New England Patriots will have a 14-2 season with a Superbowl victory.
