As graduation approaches, we are all forced to look back on the memories we experienced during our time here at Lafayette. From the countless football games, to the long AP exams, we will all remember the times we have experienced together here. As we look back at the past, we are also forced to look towards our futures and our plans for college.

Fortunately, most students at LHS have decided to further their education and go to a college or university. There are a wide range of colleges that the LHS student body has decided to attend. Some have decided to go out of state, while others have decided to save some money and go in state.  Senior, Collin Corlett, has decided to attend Arizona State University, which has the biggest college campus in the United States. “Although it’s a huge campus, I enjoyed the vibe of the campus. There is always something going on, so I’m never going to be bored. I decided to go to ASU because I felt like it offered the best opportunities for me to achieve my aspirations, it also helped that they offered me a bunch support in scholarships. I also have always wanted to move out to the west coast, so I’m excited to experience some radical times”.  We also have a student here at LHS who has made the decision to further her education in a different country. Senior Julia Ball will be moving to Australia early this summer, and will be attending a college there for the next four years. “Australia is different because it’s a lot more laid back. Also the school system is set up a lot differently so I will have my degree in 3 years” says Ball.

While most have decided to make their college decision on academics, others have set their college sights on sports. In total Lafayette has 18 students who have committed to play a sport at the collegiate level. In all, LHS has 18 athletes who will be continuing their sport in college. A wide range of sports is represented here at Lafayette and with the student athletes who will be competing at the collegiate level. These sports include football, track, swimming, baseball, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, and basketball. Senior, Jenna Beattie, will be swimming for Virginia Tech this upcoming fall. “I’m so exciting to continue swimming in college and its something g that I’ve always wanted to do” says Beattie.

As June 18^th approaches all the graduation seniors at Lafayette will soon be headed on to new adventures that await them. Whether it’s leaving the country or staying home in Williamsburg we will always remember the time we experienced at LHS and how those times shaped us into who we are today.
