A town known for its significance in our nation’s history, Williamsburg does not disappoint when it comes to food. Here are some fantastic restaurants that everyone should try when they are in the area:

1) Paul’s Deli: “Paul’s” is an Italian/American/Greek mash up restaurant. Paul’s Deli has two restaurants in Williamsburg, one located directly across the street from the college of William and Mary’s campus and one in New Town. The restaurant is very well known, and is definitely one of the town’s trademarks. Patrons are given huge amounts of food for a fair price. Paul’s is best known for its William and Mary burger, that consists of two perfectly toasted buns, a massive burger patty topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato with a choice of condiments. For desert they have many options of gigantic cakes, cannolis and pies. Paul’s Deli is an all-around fun and tasty place to eat, making it number one in Williamsburg.

2) Tuscany Italian Restaurant: A tucked away masterpiece located behind the 7/11 on Longhill road is sure to please anyone’s aesthetic and hunger needs. Their service is definitely something to write home about. They give customers space while also catering to their every need. They start out bringing bread and salad to the table, on the house, that will leave the taste buds de,manding “more, more!” Once orders are placed, the come to the table in no time at all, and one whiff of the delicious plates being delivered transforms a diner’s eyes into hearts and leaves the stomach begging for a chance to dig in. Tuscany is a little pricey, making it number two, but if you’re looking for a great date idea, it is definitely worth it.

3) Blue Talon Bistro:  A local favorite that entices guests with its unique signature dishes appropriate for any time of day. Located on Prince George street in Colonial Williamsburg it can be described as a fancy restaurant without uptight serving. Blue Talon is pretty pricey, however, so be prepared for a pretty hefty check. The waiting staff is young, and some are still learning the ways of the food industry, making it number three.

4) Cheese Shop:  Located in the best local place to have a restaurant, the center of Colonial Williamsburg, it is a sandwich shop for tourists that want to grab a quick bite while also taking in the home town culture of Williamsburg. They have many options of sandwiches, from turkey to shredded chicken with a house dressing that is to die for. The only drawback to the Cheese Shop is the long line to order your food, the long wait to get your food, and the price of the sandwiches is very high, all of which bring it down to number four.

5) Kyoto’s: This Japanese steak house is a very entertaining place to take the family. Restaurants that cook on the tables are always the most fun. Good food and a show, what more could you want? When they cook your juicy steak and chicken, your mouth turns into a waterfall. The veggies and rice make you say, “Hallelujah!” The down side is the price and the fact that you can go to a Japanese steak house in a lot of towns in America, which brings it down to number 5.
There are numerous other great places in Williamsburg to eat, so definitely don’t be afraid to branch out beyond this list if you are thinking of going out to eat.  Williamsburg is full of good eats! Try them all!
