Everyone dreams of becoming a senior in high school but many don’t think past that. The Future can seem dangerous; we don’t know what is expected in the days to come. This reporter went and interviewed six seniors and asked them, if they have plans for their future?  Here’s what the class of 2017 had to say.

Jason Thimmes is graduating in the spring and is going to serve our country. He is joining the Army. If he does go to college, the army will pay for the cost to major in Audio/Visual (Under the G.I Bill). He wants to work in A/V and also fly helicopters. He wants at least one son to take his family name. He plans to live on base, but will visit Williamsburg in the years to come. He wishes to explore as a hobby engineering, and mix it with his job, because he needs to know how the helicopter works so if he gets stuck somewhere he knows what to do.

Whitney Woods is graduating in the spring and does not have plans for college; If she does she would want to major in theater. Untimely, she would like to work in the business field. She sees herself working in her own store. One day she wants a son named Derek and a daughter named Madeline, although she would also be happy if she has 2 sets of twins. She is moving to Richmond but plans to visit Williamsburg in the future. She would want to continue theater, so she is planning to join community theater, and she will try to mix work and acting in a theater show to have a balanced life. “Just going to be working at Journeys for the rest of my life” Says Whitney.

Gene Mamaril is graduating in the fall and is going to Thomas Nelson where he will major in psychology. He would like to work in business in the many years to come. He would also expand and do therapy appointments. He does not plan to have any children, but he is thinking about it and if this changes he told me it depended on his partner. He wants to live anywhere but here, but will visit. He wants to explore any hobby but does not want to mix his career with his hobby.

Jacob Schumacher is graduating in the spring and is applying to NCU in Greensboro. He wishes to major in Computer Science and Theater in college. He wants to work in game design, but is not sure how to expand on the field. He hopes to one day have kids, but if that doesn’t work out he would want pets. He thinks he will be moving to Greensboro, NC or Alaska, and, possibly visit Williamsburg. He wishes to continue to live-stream video games and wants to mix his career so he can show off the new games that are coming up.

Zack Taymon is graduating in the spring and wants to go to Thomas Nelson for 1 year and transfer to VT or UVA. He will major in science and minor in journalism. He would want to work in political journalism as a career. He is not planning to expand in his career but just wants to live life not really planning anything important. He wants to get married and adopt 2 kids with a little dog in his later 20’s. Zack wishes to move out and live near the bay and also in a big city in California, but visit family in Williamsburg in the future, unless his family moves out then he is never coming back. He would want to continue in journalism and perhaps eventually make a book.

Bella Cryus is graduating in the spring and is planning on Thomas Nelson for 2 years then transferring to a 4-year university. She wishes to double major in journalism and theater; She would want to work in anything that adds to becoming a journalist. She does not really want to expand in the career/field. She wants to marry very young and have kids in the next couple of years. She does have fall-back plans if this doesn’t work. She sees herself moving to California or close to Washing D.C, but plans to visit family on major holidays. She would want to still continue with writing, drawing, and singing. She would love to mix her career with her hobbies because she can release songs, manly wants to act, sell her art stuff, and also write a novel.

Well class of 2017 Everyone wishes you luck and hope your dreams and hopes come! Never give up!
