From its premier in March 2005 to its finale in May 2013, The Office was highly acclaimed and is still popular three years after its final episode. It was so popular that the series won forty-six awards and 186 nominations. Ask someone about The Office and they will say something great about it.

The show consists of a dysfunctional staff that is being filmed for nine years as part of a documentary for the corporate owner, paper company Dunder Mifflin, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The boss Michael Scott is accompanied by Jim Halpert, Dwight Schrute, Pam Beesley, Kelly Kapoor, Toby Flenderson, and more workers.  Through the nine seasons of The Office, these workers go through relationships, parties, and much more.

The main characters, Michael, Jim, Dwight, and Pam are hilarious. Michael is the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch and a mediocre boss who harasses his workers on a regular basis. He does things such as dumping papers on the floor for his workers to pick up, making fun of their characteristics, and having Dwight do whatever needs to be done in the office.. In the beginning Dwight, the assistant (to the) regional manager, prides himself in being the top salesman. He has no social skills and frequently says callous comments.  Jim and Pam are a duo in the office. They start as really good friends and prank Dwight constantly. They always talk during work and don’t get much done. Endless humorous scenarios are the result of thus casts in misfits.

Through the seasons, certain characters come and go, and some get married. The majority of the time the characters can be seen in the office but other settings also include the bar, sales trips, the                    warehouse, other Dunder Mifflin branches, and sometimes on office vacations. Some of the best scenes are in the 3^rd through 7^th seasons. One of these is when a CPR assistant comes to the office because a character had a heart attack. During this time, Michael refuses to let the attention of his workers leave him by saying irrelevant things and messing up the CPR process given to the mannequin. Scenes like Michael pumping the mannequin’s chest to the beat of the Bee Gees and Dwight cutting off the face of the mannequin and wearing the face that makes this moment one of the greatest Office scenes to many fans.

With scenes that take us from laughing and to crying, The Office has left its mark on television for years to come. The Hollywood Reporter ranked it 31^st all-time in television shows and Rolling Stone ranks it 48^th. Given the enormous number of shows that air that’s an impressive feat. The Office will be one of the most well liked television shows for a while.
