The simmering feud between the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays erupted at their final game Sunday afternoon when Rougned Odor’s powerful blow to Jose Bautista’s jaw started a brawl between both teams during the eighth inning. Relieved that this was the final time the teams played each other for the regular season, the playoffs may determine otherwise.

A dispute that has been boiling since Bautista’s bat flip in last year’s AL Division Series erupted into a wild brawl that ultimately triggered six of the eight ejections during the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34chLym9oBM

During the eighth inning at Sunday’s game Bautista was upset by getting hit by a pitch from 30 year old Texas rookie Matt Bush. Seconds later, Bautista slid hard into Odor at second base, hoping to obtain a double play, but ended up in a fist fight behind the bag after Odor shoved him.

Players from both teams rushed onto the field to join the brawl when Odor landed a powerful punch on Bautista’s face, knocking off his sunglasses and helmet. http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/blue-jays-and-rangers-brawl-completely-ignore-game-1776771655

According to Espn,   “I was pretty surprised. I mean, obviously, that’s the only reason the he got me and he got me pretty good, so I have to give him that. It takes a little bit bigger man to knock me down.”

Odor was not available to reporters after the game.

Bautista was ejected from the game as a result of the brawl. The same went for Odor, Toronto’s Josh Donaldson and Texas bench coach Steve Buechele.

After the field was finally cleared, the game resumed. Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Chavez hit Rangers batter Prince Fielder with the next pitch. He was automatically ejected from the game due to the warning issued before Bush hit Bautista.

Blue Jays bench coach Demarlo Hale was also ejected because of Chavez’s pitch because he was filling in for John Gibbons. The Blue Jay’s manager was ejected during the third inning do to an argument, but returned to the field during the fight. Toronto first base coach Tim Leiper was also ejected during the third inning due to a dispute.

The anxiety-filled game resulted in a 7-6 Ranger’s victory. Both teams will be headed to the playoffs this year.  http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/15554767/texas-rangers-rougned-odor-lands-punch-face-toronto-blue-jays-jose-bautista-brawl
